One of my favorite seasonings to use in savory vegan dishes is balsamic. Most of the time I use it in small amounts — adding a dash here and there to turn up the flavor in my cherry tomato pasta or tempeh sandwiches.
Today’s recipe is all about balsamic. We’re cooking up big slabs of balsamic tofu and topping them with smoky sautéed red bell peppers and fresh basil. Ingredients you’ll need
- Balsamic vinegar. Select a balsamic aged vinegar of high quality. It should be dark, thick and slightly syrupy.
- Brown sugar To keep this recipe vegan, use organic brown sugar.
- Dijon mustard.
- Salt & pepper.
