Strawberry Simple Syrup, made from just three ingredients, can be used for so many things!
If you add a little strawberry syrup to your glass of mint-lemonade or a pitcher full of mojitos, it might become your favorite summer beverage. Pour it over a stack of buttermilk pancakes or my grandmother’s German pancakes for a breakfast that everyone will love.
Strawberry Simple Syrup
Years ago, my sister introduced me this simple strawberry syrup. She excitedly called me up to tell me that she’d made a double batch, and I just had to have the recipe.
We experimented with the recipe when we returned to visit that same month. This syrup works well in cocktails, as a topping for pancakes and waffles, and I’ve even been known to add it with some fresh fruit to a bowl of vanilla ice cream.
This delicious infusion of sun-ripened, juicy strawberries is the perfect balance of sweetness. Strawberry syrup gives any dish a vibrant pop of flavor and color, unlike regular syrup. It’s great to have on hand for special occasions and guests.
This syrup keeps in the fridge for weeks, though I’ve found that at my house it doesn’t last that long…
