The United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted a patent to Veg ofLund, a Swedish company that produces vegan potato drinks. The patent protection will be available for the entire US market.

Veg of Lund’s patent portfolio includes A patent covering the Swedish Market and protection of potato ice cream Improved recipe of award-winning DUG in Sweden, Europe and Canada. The Swedish company also has Patent applications are active in Australia (China, India, Japan), Thailand, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates. 

“We are pleased to note that a patent is also being approved for the American market for our unique vegetable milk alternatives,” says Eva Tornberg, founder of Veg of Lund.

Tornberg founded Veg of Lund, a plant-based food company in 2016, after being inspired by the potato’s potential as a source of sustainable protein. The amino acid profile is the same as that of eggs and the tubers are free of 14 common allergens.
