The Swiss Vegan Society awarded the Swiss Vegan Awards yesterday for the eighth time. They honored companies, products and individuals whose innovations have contributed significantly to the development of the vegan industry in Switzerland.
Switzerland, a country steeped and rooted in culinary traditions and dairy heritage, has seen food producers, activists retailers and policymakers update these traditional values in a more eco-friendly, ethical direction.
In Switzerland, we are paving the way for an ethical future
Animal Rights Switzerland has recently started a project to outline how the country can be more animal friendly. It describes how meat, dairy and other products could be produced using fermentation and cultivation technologies instead of traditional methods, which are cruel and involve killing animals.
The latter may become a real possibility in the country. Aleph Farms, for example, registered its application to the Swiss regulatory authorities, making it the first such application on the entire continent.
